In May 2019, we signed a contract with CAL FIRE so our firefighters can call on us whenever they need an extra environmental specialist. Since then, RCD staff have been crawling through the brush in Cohasset and Forbestown, completing botany surveys and mitigation reports that are required by law in advance of any fuels reduction projects. We'll make sure rare plants and animals are protected as CAL FIRE completes much-needed fuel breaks, brush removal, and prescribed fire projects.
