Crane Valley Meadow Restoration

Crane Valley Meadow sits at 5,200’ in elevation at the confluence of Balsam Creek and Big Kimshew Creek, headwaters tributaries of the West Branch Feather River. This project includes process-based restoration activities such as aspen enhancement, beaver mimicry (beaver dam analogs, post-assisted log structures), and encroaching conifer removal. This work will help increase the availability and quality of water in the West Branch Feather River, improve habitat for wildlife, and increase resiliency to climate change.
