Tribal collaborations are essential when planning and implementing environmental restoration and improvement projects, as Indigenous communities hold deep knowledge of local ecosystems and traditional land stewardship practices. The BCRCD makes efforts to partner with Tribes to ensure restoration efforts are guided by centuries-old ecological wisdom that promote sustainability and resilience. These collaborations also help protect culturally significant landscapes, traditional food sources, and sacred sites, fostering respect for Indigenous rights and heritage.
